Darin,
I will be praying for you! This trip will be amazing for you as you bless others through hard work, serving, and witnessing. I pray this trip will be an awesome experience in which God uses you to further His Kingdom!!! Love you!!!
Darin, I am so excited that you get to experience this trip with Joey! I am also a bit jealous, I never have been able to go to Guatemala with my kids…yet! 😉 Praying that as you bless others that you feel the blessings rebounding back to you. Praying for safety, good health with special prayers just for your back and most importantly changed lives!
Thanks for the comments and well wishes, Kristy and Kristy. It was quite the van ride to the mission. Traffic is crazy. I’m so looking forward to visiting the village tomorrow and working on the houses. It was really cool to see the Kid’s along side the roads looking for candy from Kevin. I can’t wait to give back.to the people. Please pray that we can build relationships in the short time we have and pray that we can lead some people to the Lord. …. By the way, I’m smiling as I type this. Also pray for health and safe travels for the team.
I do hope and pray for good health and safe travel for you. I also hope and pray you will build relationships not only with the people in Guatemala but also with the members of your group. I have experienced that myself on the Spring Break Mission trips. It’s also cool that you can go with your son. I did that many times with my kids, and we still talk about what happened on these trips. God bless! Rick Gilder
Hey Darin, Thank you so much for sharing you first glimpses of this grand journey you are on this week! The traffic sure can get rather intense, but even in those scary moments you know who holds you. We will be prayerful for fast relationships the kind that even though have only know each other days and might not speak the same language, you feel as if you have known each other for years. The kind of friendships brought about by the Holy Spirit. Blessings to you!
Darin,
I’m praying for you this morning as you get ready to go build homes and relationships.
What an exciting day!
I’m praying for health (a healthy back and stomach and no migraines!) for you and that God gives you opportunities to be His witness and a light to others!
Love you and have an amazing day!!!
Darin….I am praying for you and Joey everyday. Exciting to see how God is using you and Joey for His Glory. Praying for your safety during this wonderful mission trip. Love you both! Cheri
Hi All. Thanks for encouragement and prayers. Wow what day. Super busy but rewarding. Despite the language barrier we can already see relationships building with the family. The Father was building with us all day, and even though we didn’t understand each other much, it is amazing the way God finds other ways to communicate and bond. We were the last group to get done, but is was a joy to see the other teams playing with the kids of the village when we returned to the vans. The ladies of the town were getting their nails painted and the older kids were playing ball with some of our team members. I will never forget the smiles on their faces. We should have a little more time for interaction tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. Please pray for dry weather, safe travels, good health and strong relationships tomorrow. Oh I almost forgot, worship and devotions were amazing last night, What a fantastic group of people here. Love you guys. Darin
Darin, I am so glad that you had a wonderful day today! The pictures looked amazing. It is always so remarkable how the day starts with a single slab of concrete and by lunchtime all 4 walls are up! Incredible! Make sure you don’t over do things with your back. Let those students carry those buckets! 😉 Praying for another phenomenal night of worship
Darin,
So glad your day went well and the weather was good! I saw the pictures that were posted .. looks like an amazing experience and that you and the team are doing God’s work!
Continuing to pray for you.
Love you.
So glad to hear from your comments that the Language of Love crosses all cultural barriers. Darin, you have always had a calming spirit so allow God to bring that into all the situations that arise there. If there is a little craziness or disruption use that spirit of calmness to bring a fresh breath of life to your team and the people there in Guatemala. I can already hear from your words that God is using this experience to shape you and mold you! Blessings
Good Morning, Darin!
Loved hearing what a blessed day yesterday was for you!
Praying today may continue the work you started yesterday .. building the homes and relationships!
Be a blessing and let God use you in awesome and amazing ways!
Love you!!!
Another amazing day! What an experience to work together (all 40 of us) apply stucco to the homes. It was wonderful seeing all ages and personalities working together to finish the houses. The best part was the little kids joining in to help. They were getting a big kick out of it, but they really warmed our hearts. Tomorrow is a big day for us as we will be dedicating the homes and trying to bring the families to know Jesus. Please pray for us and the families.
Praying for you and Joey this morning. Be careful of your back. Please remember the love you show for Christ shines down on others. How wonderful for you and Joey to experience this together. Blessings
Just wishing the best son and father a very happy Father’s Day. Hope you weren’t one of the ones who fell sick. Heard Joey did. Hope he’s better. Glad you finished all the houses and were able to dedicate them all. Be safe and hope you have a great trip home.
Dad, I have been praying for you. I hope it has been going well and that you have been a light in His world. I look forward to hearing about it when you get back.
WOW. That was one of the most emotional days of my life. The power of prayer is incredible. Thanks to everyone who prayed for the families today. All 5 households excepted Christ. There were some battles, but God is great. There were times when it felt like we were not reaching the families and we focused our prayers on the particular person and literally one minute later they accepted Christ. So many tears of joy. It is really hard to explain the magnitude of this day. I can’t wait to get home and tell everyone about it. Thanks again for the Prayers and tomorrow is working at the medical clinics. Oh and tonight’s God sighting sharing is going to be incredible. Love you all. Darin
Darin,
This is awesome news!!!!! .. prayers answered!
So happy you can be a part of this team!!! It is so evident that God is using you to bless others; It’s also evident that He is blessing you as well in the process! God is amazing!
Praying for you for safety, health, and even more opportunities to share the Good News!
Love you.
Great day ar the med clinic. The kids of the village have so much joy. A lot of fun playing with them. There are so many people in need of basic medical supplies in these villages. So thankful we were able to distribute meds and vitamins to them. After the clinic closed we showed the Jesus film, sang songs, gave testimonials and then the pastor gave a passionate message. Many people came forward to accept Christ. Powerful stuff. Please pray the new village we are going to today. Pray for everyone on the team too. Love you. darin
Darin, good to see the work you are doing and the interaction with the people you serve. It looks you are having as much fun as the kids. Praying that It will have a lasting impact as you serve and are poured out in service to the people of Guatemala…
Philippians 2:17
“But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.”
Blessings to you and Joey and the rest of the team!
Darin,
So thankful for the blessings you could be to the village!
Praying again today for the village you will be going to today. Also, praying for safety, health, strength, and perseverance..
Miss you .. can’t wait to hear all the stories you have to share!
Continue to be a blessing!
Love you!!!
Yes God seems to work overtime on these mission trips. Prayer is important. On the Spring Break Mission trip when I go to a job or worksite I say a prayer there with my group at the the beginning of each day. You have some good stories and I would like to hear more when you get home.
Darin:
Thank you so much for giving of your time this week to serve in Guatemala. It has been so exciting reading your updates about how God is working through all of you and working within all of you. I continue to pray for strength, stamina, and health as you finish up your time there.
Thank you for the words of encouragement and prayers. The village last night was another success. This was a smaller village and it was the first time that Paradise Bound went there. A different feel than the other village. It took a bit longer for the kids/people to warm up, but once they did, wow. They were intently listening to the praise songs.and testimonies. The Jesus movie had fewer distractions as most of the kids were watching intently too. Many people came forward to accept Christ. There were many hugs afterwards. We could really feel the love of Christ in that village. Today is our recovery/reflection day. It has been an awesome week.
Happy Fathers Day Darin… thankful many prayers were answered! Positive trip doing God’s work. Praying for your safe and healthy return. Love you! Cheri
